Looking for a new airsoft rifle that's a little different? Maybe ergonomics is your thing? Check this out...

Brought to the airsoft market by Ares Airsoft and fully licenced by Kel-Tec this is the RDB17 Bullpup AEG Rifle.

This weapon has so many cool features and detailed design points that it's difficult to know where to start! From the steel birdcage flash hider to the rubber plated butt stock, it's clear to see how much thought has been out in to the creation of this weapon.

The flash hider conceals a 14mm CCW male threading, which allows you to swap it out for a suppressor or tracer. The outer barrel has a sleek, matt black finish and runs entirely the same length that the real rifle does. This results in an excellently balanced weapon. The solid and robust handguard has been constructed using high-density fibre-reinforced polymer, making it durable and sturdy. It is also ergonomically shaped and covered in futuristic square checkering.

There are 2 sling points moulded in to the front of the handguard (one on each side), allowing for ambidextrous sling mounting. The underside of the handguard features a standard picatinny rail, allowing you to mount any preferred accessories. You can remove the handguard by removing the steel body pin above the pistol grip. Inside the handguard is where your battery is stored, therefore giving plenty of room for your preferred battery.

The upper receiver features a fully functional mock charging handle which can be swapped to either side (making another ambidextrous feature - also this isn't technically a useable part and is more for aesthetics than function). Along the top is a nice long Picatinny rail allowing you to mount PEQ boxes, magnifiers, tactical weapon lights, and optical sights. The rail is machined from aluminium, with a smooth finish and sturdy construction.

Another ambidextrous feature can be found on the pistol grip, which features an Ambidextrous fire selector with a remarkably short throw, meaning you can flip between fire modes much faster than a standard AR15. The trigger has texturing on the front surface, allowing you to trigger spam the enemy even when wearing gloves. The grip itself has the same squared checkering as you'll find on the handguard (a Kel-tec trademark) and houses the tool to adjust the Hop.

The stock and mag well section of the rifle features a huge 5 sling mounting points - two on each side of the receiver and a 5th on the rear top of the stock. The magazine catch is also ambidextrous and is accessible with a slight rearward movement from a firing grip, allowing fast reloads rivalling the renowned AR15.

On the underside of the stock is the mag well, which houses the rotary hop-up, which is adjusted with the tool stored in the pistol grip as previously mentioned. Behind the mag well is the mock ejection port, which houses the gearbox! At the rear of the rifle is a rubber buttplate which helps ensure your rifle doesn't slip off your shoulder in the midst of battle!

Internally, the RDB features an electronic trigger and MOSFET, which is pre-installed, ensuring you get the most out of your chosen battery. The rate of fire on full auto is exceptional, as is the trigger response on semi-auto. The trigger mechanism itself is unlike any other seen on a bullpup Airsoft rifle, with the usual trigger transfer bar being deleted entirely in favour of an electronic connection to the gearbox. This allows the trigger pull to be light and crisp, meaning double taps are a breeze with the RDB.

Added to this already huge list of features is the quick change spring system, which is accessible by removing the stock. This allows the user to swap the spring depending on what sort of site they are playing, letting you squeeze the last few fps out of the rifle and run your RDB right on site limits. The RDB also comes with two magazines included, one long magazine and one short.

To buy an airsoft weapon in the UK you must have a valid airsoft defence.

This is not a licence, it is basically just proof that you intend to buy an airsoft weapon for use in airsoft.

An airsoft defence could be a UKARA or membership with the British Airsoft Club, and various other forms of defence.

You can only obtain an airsoft defence once you are over the age of 18.

To get an airsoft defence the law is that you should play at least 3 games of airsoft, and that you must have been playing for at least two months.
You can still buy an airsoft gun without a defence, provided you are 18 or older. If you choose to do this we would, by law, two tone (paint in a bright colour) parts of your chosen weapon. This is because an airsoft gun is considered a RIF aka Realistic Imitation Firearm, because they are so close to the real steel, whereas when you paint parts of it in a bright colour it becomes an IF aka Imitation Firearm. The reason being that the bright colours make it look less realistic to the public, and therefor less likely to be mistaken as real, were it to be used for any other purpose than airsoft.

When you order a gun from us you will need to add your defence details in the comments section of the cart. If you do not have a defence you will need to write the colour that you wish to be used for two toning your airsoft weapon.

Here is what's stated in the VCRA (Violent Crime Reduction) Act:

For airsoft skirmishing, the Association of British Airsoft is putting in place arrangements to allow retailers to check that individual purchasers are members of a genuine skirmishing club or site. The key elements of these arrangements are:
    1. new players must play at least 3 (three) times in a period of not less than two months before being offered membership
    2. membership cards with a photograph and recognised format will be issued for production to retailers
    3. A central database will be set up for retailers to cross-check a purchaser’s details
    4. member’s entry on the database will be deleted if unused for 12 months.
The defence for airsoft skirmishing can apply to individual players because their purchase of realistic imitation firearms for this purpose is considered part of the “holding” of a skirmishing event.
