Are you fed up with having to gas your pistol mags? Do you often forget to charge your batteries for game day? Then HPA could be the way forward for you!
HPA (High Pressure Air) is growing increasingly popular amongst airsofters everywhere. Here at Bomb Up Airsoft, it is asked for every single day! Some of our own team run HPA and have a lot of fun doing so!
So, what do you need to run it? And most importantly – how much does it cost to get set up?
So different RIFs require slightly different set ups. But for the most part the same gear is required.
Your basic set up for a gas blowback pistol (GBB) or a gas blowback rifle (GBBR) is:
Your basic pistol HPA set up starts at around £180.
Your basic set up for a rifle (AEG) is:
- Tank
- Line
- Regulator
- Engine
- Very small Tamiya battery (JTS Lipo) to power the fire control unit on some set ups.
Your basic rifle HPA set up starts at around £550.
Your basic set up for a sniper rifle is:
- HPA bolt (SDIK)
- Tank
- Line
- Regulator
Your basic sniper HPA set up starts at around £350.
HPA supplies that we stock regularly are 48CL tanks, 13CL tanks, 1m lines, Oxygen Regulators and Epes and Balystik Taps. In terms of engines, we supply and fit several engines to suit your individual wants and needs. For Single Shot engine that do not require a battery we have the Wolverine Reaper, Mancraft PDIK or PolarStar Kythera.
For Full Auto we supply and fit PolarStar Jack, F2 and Fusion. The fusion engine is built into a gear box and is essentially a drop in kit. The Wolverine Inferno Gen.2 Spartan Edition also comes as a full kit. All of these engines require a JTS Lipo battery.
If you are wanting to buy a RIF that is already HPA ready you could look into buying a Wolverine MTW. You have the Billet at around £700 or the Forged, which is top of the range, around £900.
Finally, Wolverine also do a V3 HPA kit which is suitable for AKs and M249’s if you run either of these and would like to HPA them that is available as an option.
